Circus Ballet

This Ballet Costume was made as part of my Bachelor of Arts Degree for my specialist focus module. I decided to focus on ballet costumes as this is a specialism of costume I have always been intrigued by growing up, and I wanted design around the iconic tutu silhouette.

The costume is comprised of a neck ruffle made from crushed velvet and organza; a cotton velvet bodice with hook and eye fastenings and chiffon sleeves; and a platter tutu made of 8 metres of stiff and soft, black and white net, and a crushed velvet tutu plate hand embellished with sequins.
